Sarangbang

A room, a few people, and Korean music heard close up.

The sarangbang was the room in a Korean house where people gathered to talk, to drink tea, and to play music for one another. It was never a stage. It was a room, and everyone in it was close enough to hear breath.

Sarangbang is a series from Korean Music UK that brings that back. Korean traditional music played without amplification, in small spaces, for small numbers of people. Each gathering is held in a different room, hosted by the people who keep it.
